Marcel Sabitzer will miss both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona after suffering a knee injury in the defeat to RB Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Marcel Sabitzer will be out for at least a month after the 31-year-old midfielder suffered a right knee injury in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund are schedule to travel to Barcelona on April 9 before the Yellows return home to face the Blaugrana on April 15.
The Yellow and Blacks are currently in 11th place in the Bundesliga, having collected 35 points from 26 games, 10 points behind 4th place Eintracht Frankfurt with 8 games remaining.
Even Julian Brandt has been far from consistent, meaning Dortmund could certainly rue the absence of someone like Sabitzer, who can easily break up play and initiate counter-attacks.
That said, Sabitzer was not the only threat Barcelona had to worry about. The club must be mindful about other star players including the Dortmund number nine Serhou Guirassy, who closely follows Barcelona matches.
